Kevin Wong | Technical specialistHey there! So, you got yourself a VPN key from the NopRox dashboard and now you’re wondering how to use it on your iPhone? No worries, I got you. In this guide, I’ll walk you through setting up OpenVPN on your iPhone step by step. It’s super easy—promise!
Step 1: Download the OpenVPN Connect App
First things first, head over to the App Store on your iPhone and search for OpenVPN Connect. It’s the official app you need, and it’s free. Hit Download and let it install.
Step 2: Grab Your VPN Key
Next, log in to your NopRox dashboard. You’ll see an option to Download the VPN Key (config file, it’ll usually be a .ovpn
file). Tap on that and save it to your iPhone. You can either save it to your Files app or directly open it with OpenVPN Connect if it gives you that option.
Step 3: Import the Key to OpenVPN
Open the OpenVPN Connect app. You should see an option to Import the profile. If you saved the .ovpn
file to your Files app, just tap Import File, browse to where you saved it, and select it. The app will do the rest.
Step 4: Connect and Go!
Once the profile is imported, you’ll see it listed on the main screen of the OpenVPN app. Just hit the big Connect button. You might get a pop-up asking for permission to add VPN configurations. Tap Allow, and you’re good to go!
Step 5: Verify Your Connection
When you see the green Connected status, you’re all set. Your internet traffic is now going through the OpenVPN tunnel. Want to double-check? Open your browser and Google “What’s my IP?” to see that it’s changed.
